Granger Hotel San Diego Downtown

Beautiful hotel! Location makes all of downtown very walkable. Majority of the staff members were very pleasant, hotel felt secure, and for the size and age of the building they had some decent amenities. I thought welcome cocktails were included but that was never offered, although we checked in around 5pm. The rooms could have been a bit cleaner, but overall fine. My only problem were the beds. Highly uncomfortable, and I camp often so my standards are very low. The bedding was also a huge miss. My boyfriend moves a lot during the night and the bottom sheet was half lifted by the morning (not a fitted sheet?). But I had not experienced a bed that uncomfortable in a long time. I was very excited to sleep on my own bed when I got home.

From the moment we arrived to the final moment of checking out and getting into a cab to the airport, we felt welcome, at home and relaxed. We especially want to note how helpful Rosie, Kenia and Grace were with our requests and questions. Always a smile, always ready with a solution. You and your team have mastered the ability to not be surprised by what could go wrong (will we ever forget the elevator that would not reach the 5th floor?) and shift into solution mode immediately. Our quick visit to San Diego was for a special occasion and with so little time to enjoy the city it was very nice to have a reliable "home away from home" to return to after a very busy day of exploring the city. Thank you once again for welcoming us. We look forward to our return.

This place has such a beautiful ambiance! We did not stay at the hotel, we happened to be walking around and came across this beautiful building. We walked in and immediately wanted to use the place for some pictures. We asked the front desk first and they kindly said yes. Abdi was so sweet and made us feel so comfortable in doing so! He let us take all the pictures we wanted!! We will definitely be staying here some day. Loved it!

My favorite stay in San Diego so far. The BEST location in the gaslamp area. Staff was very attentive. Our room was small but perfect for the two of us. There are free snacks (misc. nuts and m&m’s to make trail mix), coffee and ice & water on each floor central to each room. (Not at the end like most hotels). We can’t wait to come back!!

My stay at Granger was enjoyable. Pros: Convenient location with tons of things to do within walking area Very friendly front desk Free coffee machine and snack bar on each level Aesthetic lobby area Dog friendly and $100 fee per stay Cons: Not the best sound proof in the building. My neighbor was blasting music till midnight Outside street is busy and can be noisy till very late Beware if you book via third party sites it may say that breakfast is included but that is no longer the case. If you can’t afford the parking, there’s $10 parking 10min away at the Horton Plaza. Also, the plaza parking is open, but the plaza itself is closed indefinitely.

Everything is perfect in this hotel. You will find multiple courtesies such as filter water, coffee machine, candies, M&M, peanut and more. You can enjoy of a great breakfast. Magnificent rooms with high cost products such as shampoo, conditioner, etc. The hotel has a great atmosphere such as art museum and a relaxing fragrance. The staff made me feel like a princess.

Was originally drawn to this hotel because of the aesthetics, the lobby and rooms are definitely IG worthy. But after staying here, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone debating on booking. Initially I was drawn to the aesthetics but the service was definitely 5/5 stars! All of the hotel staff were super friendly! Mark - the head of guest experience at Granger was immensely helpful as well! I asked how much the cost would be for a later checkout since I’d be on a meeting during checkout time, but Mark kindly offered complimentary late checkout which I really appreciated. The rooms were super clean and the beds comfy were super comfy. We appreciated the snack closet that also had an ice and water machine which was super useful! We also really appreciated the security that was always at the front door entrance of the hotel - this made us feel super safe considering Gaslamp can have some sus people hanging around. They also offer a great complimentary breakfast. Probably the best complimentary breakfast I’ve had at a hotel. Had lots of variety and fresh/local offerings. Overall, I feel like the hotel was definitely worth the price - with the customer service, cleanliness and aesthetics. Would definitely stay here again!

I was there for a conference. They seem cool, it was close enough to the trains but not close enough to be disturbed. I liked my time there! Also they offer free breakfast and snacks! Enjoy. Their security deposit wasn’t outrageous.
